It's not really a horror, but more of a thriller.
It's based off of the Best selling shonen Jump Advance Manga, and one of my favorite stories of all time.
the basic premisis is this...
You are a Japenese Genius, Light Yagami, and you are bored out of your mind. You gaze out the window, and notice a stray black notebook on the ground. You go and pick it up and relize that the book has rules written in English. After Translating, it says as follows.
1.The human whose name is written in this note shall die.
2.This note will not take effect unless the writer has the subject's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
3.If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the subject's name, it will happen.
4.If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of heart attack.
5.After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
There are more rules discovered later, but that's not important right now. After experimenting with it, He becomes mad with power and meets the books orginal owner, A Shinigami. A shinigami is a god of death and he's just there to watch for entertainment purposes. Light now must now outsmart another Genius named only as L.
This is a GREAT series. Either wait till WB releases it for the U.S. or buy the 1st vol. of Manga *7 released, 8 comes out next month*
It's AWESOME! I recomend both the movie and manga. Trust me ;)
