okay, i've had an idea which may work or it may not.
if you do not like the idea of the saw movies being continued past number 3 then post on this thread agreeing with it. if you guys really don't want a saw 4 and more then we need to make it VERY clear to all the people put there who might consider making more saw movies. hopefully we can influence them to stop making saw movies (though they are great) past number 3.
who's with me?

If there is a fourth that is very story driven with a strong plot I say go for it...BUT THAT"S IT!!!! Go for a hannibal lector quadrilogy not a Nightmare on Elme Street archive of films....

Whether or not this topic is open for discussion, I'm going to post my opinion anyway.
First of all, what makes you think that just because you have a little petition going on here that suddenly the people behind the movie are going to go, "Oh, well, that person thinks we shouldn't make another one? Yeah. Let's not do that. Instead, let's spend buckets of cash going back to edit tons of last minute crap into Saw III to make sure we wrap everything up so that person won't be disappointed."
You're a little late.
Second of all, if the writers behind Saw are good enough, who says they can't put a few more movies on the table and have them still be, dare I say it, good?
Of course it's never good for ANY series AT ALL to go on forever. But I'd like to see Saw IV. I'd like to see Saw V. And, if the series had maintained its credibility, maybe even Saw VI. But demanding it end at III? This is both,
a) Impossible at this point
and
b) Just flat-out disrespectful to James and Leigh.

Going on with another 3 movies is ridiculous especially if John is still alive because then it comes no better then Halloween or Friday the 13th...
I say no to Saw IV and V and VI but I'd see them anyways...

Saw differs from Halloween and Friday the 13th in the sense that unlike them, it wasn't a completely ridiculous movie to begin with. Not to mention there was nothing to build off of in those movies. Each one ended as though it was the last one, and so even a single sequel was in a sense, pushing the envelope.
The only way to have a good sequel is to end its prequel knowing it will be followed up. Saw I and Saw II both did this seamlessly.
I'm with Nymphetamine on this one.
seriously, i don't think they give a fuck if we think they shouldn't make another saw movie. it all about the money in their pockets.

Yeah but Jigsaw (john...) can't keep on living on because he has cancer it he becomes immortal like Michael Myers and Jason unless he dies in one them. Saw 4,5 and 6 could be awesome but I think the story can only go so far...

I'd think that'd be the only reasoning they had for making Saw II. To be completely honest, Saw probably would have been more of a cult hit if it remained a single movie.

That's where the writers come in.
And by the way.

You know I love ya.
Oh why doll? Is it because I don't capitalize?
Or because what I wrote was not directed at you?
I see no errors in the grammar I used other than capitalization.
Please remember in the future, that 'grammar Nazi' applications are only available for the people over the age of 16 or graduated high school and/or college
Hey, even if you could have spot where the RIGHT grammar mistakes were, I would have accepted it.

I don't think a 4th film would go amiss, so long as they get Whannel and Wan on board for it.
It wouldn't be a 'proper' Saw without its creators working on it iyam.

First and foremost, don't patronize me.
Second of all, if your post hadn't been directed at the subject at hand that had gone from a No Saw 4 petition to a discussion as to why there should or should not be a Saw 4, then it tells me you hadn't even bothered to read the direction of the thread before deciding to make a post like that.
Let's say that you did read the thread. The change of the direction of the discussion started with my post. You, saying what you had, would have been targeted at me whether you like to think so or not, doll.
Last of all, you being an unemployed 22-year-old hardly makes you the best candidate to preach superiority.
*Edit* You know what? This isn't the place for an argument like this. I'll start by saying I'm sorry for the slightly rude post, and you can either PM me or drop it here. Either way let's keep it out of the thread.

aren't darren and leigh and guys done after saw III. If they can get those guys back then I would have faith that IV could be a good movie. And if they can keep making good Saw movies, then they should. I think they know what they're doing. I have to have faith in them until they screw up which hasn't happened yet.

nyabzns makes good points. but doesn't it just come down to whether or not Lionsgate can make money from it? The answer is yes. I would just hope they cared about the fans enough and for the creators to have enough pride to see their original work go down the tubes with bad sequels made by someone else.

I want them to make as many Saw Movies as possible. Who cares if there are 6 of them like the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th. Saw is awesome and I hope they keep making them as long as they are awesome

I agree. Stop at SaW III. By making a SaW 4, it'll ruin the series. No movie that has ever gone past 3 (well at least that I've seen) has been sucessful. So spare us the 4th SaW film and save the first three before they crumble down under the ridiculous length of the series by adding the 4th film.
(Just so you know, even if they make a 4th film, I'll watch it anyways. Who knows, it may be better than we expect)
