Dude. Who DOESN'T think they kick ass? Which is why I don't like them as much as I used to. I hate when the whole world becomes obsessed with a band. I still like em though. A lot.

Yupp, you know how I feel about them, guys. Just look at my avatar and signature. Haha, did you want me to comment here, Jonny, cuz you wanted me to say again how I know them? lmfao :D

What's your guys' favourite song from their first and second cd?

First: I have three: Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us/Our Lady of Sorrows/Early Sunsets over Monroeville

Second: Helena/Hang 'Em High/It's Not a Fashion Statement, It's a Fucking Deathwish

Also, my all time favourite track they ever made is Desert Song.

Any of you think you have what it takes to ace my MCR test? Take it. :D

Alright, who here is not aware of My Chem's first album? Cuz if not, I'm posting my favourite song lyrics here, since it IS for their band:

"Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us"

The amount of pills I'm taking, counteracts the booze I'm drinking
and this vanity I'm breaking, lets me live my life like this
and well I find it hard to stay, with the words you say
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in
Well I'll choose the life I've taken, never mind the friends I'm making
and the beauty that I'm faking lets me live my life like this
And well I find it hard to stay, with the words you say
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in

And you can cry all you want to, I don't care how much
You'll invest yourself in me, we're not working out (we're not working out)
We're not working out (we're not working out)
And you can't touch my brother and you can't keep my friends
and we're not working out, we're not working out
This time I mean it, never mind the times I've seen it

Well I hope I'm not mistaken by the news I heard from waking
and it's hard to say I'm shaken, by the choices that I make
and well I find it hard to stay, with the words you say
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in
Well I'll choose this life I've taken, never mind the friends I'm making
And I get a little shaken, because I live my life like this
And well I find it hard to stay, with the words you say
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in

And you can cry all you want to, I don't care how much
You'll invest yourself in me, we're not working out,
We're not working out
And you can't keep my brother, and you won't fuck my friends
and we're not working out, we're not working out
This time I mean it, never mind the times I've seen it

Never again, never, never again

(and you can cry all you want to, I don't care how much you'll invest yourself in me)
ne.. never... never... never again
(and you can cry all you want to, I don't care how much you'll invest yourself)
ne.. never... never... oh baby let me.. oh baby... oh baby
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in
I'm knocking let me in
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in
I'm knocking let me in
Oh baby let me in
Oh baby let me in

"Our Lady of Sorrows"

We could be perfect one last night
And die like star-crossed lovers when we fight
And we can settle this affair
If you would shed your yellow take my hand
And then we'll solve the mystery of laceration gravity
This riddle of revenge please understand it has to be this way and

[Chorus]
Stand up fucking tall
Don't let them see your back
Take my fucking hand
and never be afraid again

We've only got one chance to put this at an end
and cross the patron saint of switchblade fights
You said we're not celebrities, we spark and fade, they die by threes
I'll make you understand and you can trade me for an apparition

[Chorus]
Stand up fucking tall
Don't let them see your back
Take my fucking hand
and never

Trust, you said
Who put the words in your head
Oh how wrong we were to think
That immortality meant never dying

Stand
Take my fucking hand
Take my fucking hand!

[Chorus]
Stand up fucking tall
Don't let them see your back
Take my fucking hand
and never be afraid again

Just because my hands around your throat!

:D

My Chemical Romance are the only 'emo' band that are semi-decent, I think. I saw them live in concert and Gerard sounds pretty similar to the record. Helena is a great songs and the video is also really good.

Here's my verdicts on all their videos:

Vampires Will Never Hurt You: Loving the black and white set up for the video. The band looks greatly different than how we know them today (for one, Gerard's hair is short and spikey), and their performance in the video is a little inexperienced. But, since it was their first video, that can be dismissed. Another excellent story being protrayed in it; eerie and mystifying.

Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For the Two Of Us: Carries a confusing story line but is surprisingly mesmorizing because of it's complex scenarios. The performing part of the video shows the band as we know it today, and I think they're energy and creativity in the video is awesome.

Helena: Amazing video - my favourite out of all of them. The dancing is excellent and adds that "theatre" touch to it. The outfits are wonderfully designed by Gerard, and the bands onstage presence in the video is unbelievable. The mixture of the drums, the three guitarists, and Gerard's transitions from alter, to the band, to his knees is surprisingly powerful. The climax, where Helena awakens from the dead for her final moment, is beautiful and carries a message deeper than most people can convey. The final dance at the end with the umbrellas is ultimately creative and keeps the video flowing.

I'm Not Okay (I Promise) #1: I love the idea that they're taking real live footage of them and using it in a big mixture for their track. The scene where all the band members are in Gerard and Mikey's house let's the audience see the simplicity of their lifestyle and whatnot. The concert scenes are another great touch, because we get an idea of what the band is like live and how their fans react to them.

I'm Not Okay (I Promise) #2: Definitely my second favourite video. Absolutely hilarious and creative. Taken from an idea that'd been done and redone so many times before, and turned it into a piece of work that was different from anything else. It starts off interesting with the R-rated movie piece, and then throughout the video, we get a taste of the high-school life. Overall, we get to see what we've all come to enjoy: Seeing the underdogs get back at the ones who've shunned them. Only this time, with croquet mallets. =P

The Ghost of You: First of all, props to Gerard for cutting his hair - for the first time in 3 and a half years - for this video. AND for the fact that they didn't take the obvious approach to the video, which would've been a creepy old house filled with ghosts. The whole concept of a World War II video is not exceptionally innovative, but this band managed to turn it into something of its own. Although very sad, I love how they chose Mikey to die, because all the fans know that, as Gerard's little brother, that makes the video reach a new plateau of emotion. Gerard's reaction to him being shot was, in my opinion, perfect and the overall realness of it is capable of chills. This video never surprises me with it's entire message.

Yeah, ive only heard one of their songs(Vampires Will Never Hurt You) and im starting to like them although im not really into their type of music. I wish they were a little less screamy though. I must say… Gerard certainly is a hottie……. Lol

lol, it's the 'screamy' that makes them so good. Ordinaraly I can't stand screaming in music but I'm starting to get into it more. It shows the meaning behind the lyrics better than just singing them. My favourite MCR song would probably be Drowning Lessons because it's so...well it grabs me. I'm really into art and literature and it reminds me of that one painting of the woman in the river, I'm not sure what it's called but I like it.

countless_von_neverland, thanks for the comp. on my signature. I love that quote, and Desert Song is amazing. I agree with you, the screaming really adds the right flavour to their music, and theur lyrics are pure genious.

If I had my other camera, I'd show you the pics of me with them over the past few years, but I'll just show this (rather dark) pic of Frankie performing that I took at the soundcheck I was at in November. I forgot the flash and so it's dark, and after that my camera died so I couldn't take anymore while I was chilling with the guys. T_T
