I'm so pumped for this season to begin. It's been a long off season for me and the Dallas Stars. We're gonna forget about last season and just look forward to a SUCCESSFUL season.

On that subject I am happy about that trade as it makes the locker room less tense. Backstrom played well, 33 saves. They didnt take many penalties, they capitalized on their power play chances, and took advantage in the shootout.

Minnesota is a decent team, and Colorado has been a surprise for sure this season.

Even though it's still early the standings are fucked. Colorado is tearing up the league, Phoenix has a winning record, MY KINGS ARE KICKING ASS.

This is gonna be a really interesting season IMO. Detroit won't win the presidents trophy or get home ice (if they make the playoffs), a lot of teams that haven't done good in a while are finally doing good (Avs, Kings, Blues, CBJ, PHOENIX).

I'm pretty upset that I moved back to Edmonton this year though...moving to L.A. gave me a reason to not like the oilers, and I fell in love with the kings especially former oilers Stoll, Greene and i absolutely fucking love Anze Kopitar...and it really sucks we didn't trade for Pronger...absolutely love that guy. BTW, Philly for the cup.

My local team started doing special jerseys a few seasons ago. They do Christmas, Halloween, Valetine's etc etc. I guess 6 or 7 a year.

They have NEVER won a game while wearing one.
I don't even bother going when they wear them now.

I do not understand how we can't beat Minnesota this year. We had 3x the power plays they had, 3x the opportunities, and we still couldn't score. Honestly I think NHL/Hockey Jerseys are WAAAAAAAAAAAY too expensive. Seriously I even got one on ebay for 80 and I thought that was a lot. Waste of money IMO since I got an XL and was wearing it when I WAS fat. lol so now I really don't have a jersey.. :( Plus I don't know how the fitting system works for jerseys. haha

My Avs jersey is a large and it feels like I'm wearing an XXL. The sleeves are baggy and long, the actual jersey is really long (it goes past the bottom of my back pockets), and it's very baggy. I kind of wish that I would have exchanged it for a medium. The only plus to it being a little big is I can wear a sweatshirt underneath it but I usually just wear a t-shirt or tank top.

I'm nervous to get a medium if I end up buying a USA jersey because I don't know how different a RBK large is from a Nike large. From my experience RBK clothing runs big. I have two Avs t-shirts that are larges and they also fit like an XL or XXL. It's ridiculous.

I've been pretty lucky with my jerseys and got most of the NHL ones for cheap off eBay. The most I paid was I think $200 for an authentic Blue Jackets Rick Nash one (you know the on ice ones, with fight strap and everything :cool:) but I think my other Blue Jackets ones were like $30 each.

Paid about £95/$150 and £110/$170 for 2 game worn ones from my local team. Overpaid for sure but they are literally one of a kind. Special jerseys just for the play-offs, one home and away for each player and that's it.

Perhaps because I've grown up on touched icing, but I am for a change in order to cut down on injuries. I'd prefer no contact icing in which a hit can not be made but there will still be goons that will make the hit and take the penalty I supose. In the end it is those unsportmanslike players that are causing the change in the game. Though even some of those players that are considered fair players like Mike Fisher have gotten such a penalty. This passed friday Fisher got 5 minute major and Game miscounduct for such a hit on an iced puck play. The Canadian Brodcasters and analysts as well as the Ottawa bench disagreed with the call as it look like Kaleta embelished the fall It was woethy of 2 min penalty but not a misconduct. Taking away the touched icing slow down the pace of the game for me and like I said sometimes things are accidental and it sucks to be penalised for that. Like delay of game penalties. Perhaps because I've grown up on touched icing, but I am for a change in order to cut down on injuries. I'd prefer no contact icing in which a hit can not be made but there will still be goons that will make the hit and take the penalty I supose. In the end it is those unsportmanslike players that are causing the change in the game. Though even some of those players that are considered fair players like Mike Fisher have gotten such a penalty. This passed friday Fisher got 5 minute major and Game miscounduct for such a hit on an iced puck play. The Canadian Brodcasters and analysts as well as the Ottawa bench disagreed with the call as it look like Kaleta embelished the fall It was woethy of 2 min penalty but not a misconduct.
I thought it already was a rule, that if it was clear that the chasing team/team that iced it wasn't going to get to the puck first, they are not allowed to make contact with the opposition player? Never see it get called unless it's really obvious.
Taking away the touched icing slow down the pace of the game for me and like I said sometimes things are accidental and it sucks to be penalised for that. Like delay of game penalties. Personally I find it enjoyable to see the teams race for an Iced puck when no hits or injuries have occured.
Depends how you look at it. Yes it would take away speedy chases for the puck, but as for the overall time the game would take, it would speed it up. They would blow the whistle for icing as soon as it crosses the blue line, no waiting for a player to skate potentially almost the entire length of the ice touch it.
And like I said before, teams need to learn not to ice the puck. Yes sometimes it's accidental, but it's just part of the game.
I think I could count on one hand the number of times I've seen a team reverse an icing call this season at the hockey I go to every week.

I prefer they keep players safe than worry about the integrity of any records. I can't really think of any rule changes that would have much impact on records anyway. It only tends to be changes in length of seasons or changes in lengths of games that would have an impact tbh.

Well I hope Colorado takes out San Jose tbh but that just being anti-Heatley of me. Though I am happy for what Ottawa got for Heatley in Michalek not so much in Cheechoo.

I am not bitter in that Heatley asked for a trade after signing a deal but bitter for how he went about it. I think if a player signs a no trade clause deal and request a trade that the no trade clause should be null and void allowing the team to trade the player to any team they please. Healtey basically hand the upper hand and got to pick where he was going. Why I am ranting a season later I don't know.

Considering both Det and Pitts have been in the finals 2 years in a row each wining a cup I'd rather not see that as a final again nor would I like to see either team in the finals.

Crosby getting the cup would make his year as he'd have a gold medal sandwhiched between Stanely Cups, I'm not going to lie I use to hate him but he did help win my country Gold though that easily could have been anyone and I'd like to see Jarome get more credit too.
