Ideas for Hoffman's Test

so i thought about Saw V. And i was thinking about how Hoffman could be tested without another apprentice and my idea was that there is no real test. He has to face his fears, but instead just run away into a trap. At the end he will get killed by another victim. I think it could work as his plot and there could be a twist then. but i want him to be a minor character. the major plot should be about maybe two other victims. At the end the victims and Hoffman should confront each other in the bathroom. That would be cool. Hoffman then thinks one of them is the other apprentice and they kill each other. the last surviving victim is then injured and the door closes automatically after he heard a tape he found in the bathroom or something similar. it would be cool

Interesting idea, though most people ideas seem to involve the end result with Hoffman failing. What if Hoffman DOES succeed where others have failed? After all ,he seems more level headed than the other accomplices and Amanda.
I think the trap/test should definitely be based off of whatever 'fear' or obsession that Hoffman has. I've said this before somewhere I think ,but when John said "You feel you now have control don't you?" I don't think he was just referring to the situation that was taking place on screen, I think Hoffman has some real demons that hes trying to keep at bay.

i do not think that hoffman is a real apprentice, i think he just helped to not get tested.

and for being him death. my only reason for him dying is that i want it to be fresh. and for Saw 5 i want to have it similar like Saw 3, everyone dying. I like Hoffman, but i see no chance him being alive and the story being fresh, so he has to be tricked by Jigsaw and in Saw 6 we will see the police discovering the bathroom and things and lots of flashbacks

I like your theory for Hoffman...I really like Hoffman though, but I hope they do end up back in the bathroom at the end of SAW 6... and they tie up lose ends...very good idea though :)

That is a very interesting plot.. I actually like it alot, and it makes sense. Much better then some of other ideas I have heard..
I agree with you, I really hope Hoffman is a minor character. I really hope he is not a real apprentice, in fact I doubt he is.
Anyway, yeah, great idea!

I think Hoffman should and will succeed, because he is just cold and calculating, not crazy and emotional like amanda.

you know what wold be great?? we know that **SPOILERS possibly*** there is a group of five people being tested and they have to use teamwork to survive. so maybe if 1 or 2 of those 5 survive, the twist could be that in the end they place Hoffman in a trap to teach him the lesson he tried to teach them. i dont know how they could make another movie off that ending, but i still think it would be really cool.

I was thinking about this for a while, and I began wondering, what if he's kinda got... two tests? Or at least a two-PART test. One at the beginning, from which we've heard, he passed.
What could their be that would show he could be the next, SUCCESSFUL Jigsaw? Something that Amanda COULDN'T (or simply wouldn't) have? A test subject that survived. Who might that be? Strahm.
If Strahm passes, he gets clues that lead him to Hoffman, and Hoffman must cover his tracks properly as the second part of his test.
Even if Strahm fails, Hoffman would have tied up a loose end. Who else could be a loose end? Jill. Perez, even. Each could be given clues to finding Hoffman's secret if they pass. If none of them pass, then the outside person, the one who'd supply the clues (not necessarily an apprentice, more a pawn), would have to hunt Hoffman themselves for whatever reason.

Any test for Hoffman could quite easily be a series of traps which John arranged before he died, with some kind of message directing him to them. For example, perhaps he has to save Corbett.

Personally, since we saw the pictures of luba, ive always thought shes gunna be someone who survives.

His trap should challenge him more mentally than physically, allow the trap to make him question what he has come to believe. People have stated that he won't die because he has signed to star in Saw VI, but these could be flashbacks and plays apart of or Saw V and VI could basically be volumes of each other picking up where the other left off.
