I would like it to leave some tiny bits open, but it really needs to have a finished feeling. I am thinking of the ending of Saw III as a pretty tidy ending, but with little bits to make you want more.

i think all of our questions should be answered with a big tie in at the end
besides, darren said on the saw III commentary that by the end, all our questions will be answered

I want SAW VI to have a definitive ending. I don't want a cliffhanger or an open ending. I want it to wrap up perfectly!

A part of me wants a clifhanger ending (Amanda's alive, and she possibly has an apprentice of her own), the other part of me says "let it die!"

You could get another 3 sequels if the Saw 6 cliffhanger was Dr G (and Cary was signed up for it)

I have a feeling that Saw 6 or the final SAW, will have an ending that will require us to use our imaginenation. alas, The Sopranos ending.

so ou mean something like the last person alive is in a room and then someone close the door without knowing who it is?

No. I mean an ending that is completely confusing or makes no sense what so ever, that requires us to make up our own ending
As much as I hope they don't go that route, I have a feeling that is what they will do.

so like the last scene is the police discovering the bathroom and traphouse and there are no victims, they are just disappeared? haha whatever, when there is a confusing ending the dr.G-Threads will be bloom

I want it to end with a cliffhanger (Dr. Gordon style) but for it to still be the last movie in the series. I love having questions. Besides, if it ends and every question is answered, what will HoJ become? It'll die, that's what.

The series should end like no other seris before it. I think there should be a very big part of the movie to be left out, never to be tottaly revealed as true or false. But all of the clues to figure out what realy happend are scattered amongst the last three movies. i think this way people can watch all of the movies and come up with the ending they either wanted or think is most plausible. Im not talking about somethng like "whats in the suitcase in pulp fiction?", im talking about something even bigger.

I don't think it will die. People will still discuss whether not or not they liked the ending and different ways it should or shouldn't have ended. They will also discuss different aspects of what they did or didn't like about the end.
If Saw VI is the final installment, then I really don't want it to end with a cliffhanger. It would definitely be interesting and mysterious and exciting, but it would also be disappointing. I just feel like after all the time and energy fans invest in growing to love and understand every detail of the films and to even think up things that haven't been answered, it would be pretty awful to leave the audience hanging or create more questions. So I definitely want the series to end feeling like I know everything there is to know and all the important questions have been answered.
I don't think it would necessarily be a cliffhanger if the film ended like Saw. I don't usually consider that a cliffhanger, simply because we're given information about why John does what he does (he says he's sick of people not appreciating their lives), Dr. G sawed his foot off and was moving so slowly- with the blood loss we can assume he didn't even make it out of the building alive. Zep dies, and we know Adam is going to die in that bathroom. So I felt like everything was explained to a degree. That wasn't necessarily a cliffhanger, it was just a different ending that wasn't happy. So I wouldn't mind if Saw VI, or the last installment, ending in a way that is stylistically like Saw.
That said, if Saw VI gets made, it probably WILL end with a cliffhanger, just to leave the options open. I think they will continue making Saw movies if the box office results of the previous ones are good.

I would like a cliffhanger. For two main reasons. 1. SAW is built on mystery. Gordon and the letter are pieces of the mystery. The ending should remain a mystery and should never be answered. 2. I like the "leave it up to the fan's imaginations" factor of SAW but unfortunately it will not end with a cliffhanger because I have a feeling that this new director will fuck up the mystery that this series has built by answering those unanswered questions.

I agree. The series has revealed itself in a fashion similarly to a Jigsaw puzzle. With each movie, questions are answered and just as many new questions are raised. I believe in the final installment, all loose ends should come together to complete the puzzle. Otherwise I will feel VERY cheated.

I want six to end the series, I want all our questions to be answered.... HOWEVER I want a TWIST! lol.. Every time people go to see SAW, 9 out of 10 they are looking for the twist. The mystery of SAW is wat drives me to see it, not the horror and gore. If 6 ends all happy, and all the Jigsaw apprentices are put away or killed, I will be upset. I think that we should have no unanswered questions from the other 5 movies. BUT I think they should still have a surprise ending to shock everyone as they close the series. JUST AN EXAMPLE: Something like in the end, we find out Jigsaw's ex wife was actually an accomplice to some of his traps, or something like that). Not necessarily that, I cant think of a good twist (thats wat the writers are for).. But I do think we need something unexpected 2 show us why we've followed this series all these years. It needs to be set apart form other horror/thriller films. i dont want a cheesy movie. I dont want a happy ending. I want a SAW movie. Like someone said, even if its not a new apprentice... but maybe an ending similar to the first one.. like how we were shocked the killer was the dead guy in the middle of the room. I just need something to make a statement at the end of the movie. however, I do not wanna have to make up my own ending or interpretation of the ending.

I have full faith in David Hackl. After all, he has been with the series since the second film.. I think he has the right grasp on what the films are and should be.

i have an idea of how VI should end
we cut to john closing the bathroom door but on the OUTSIDE of the bathroom. we see john walk up to gordon who is sitting upright on the wall. and john says "Lawrence.....i've given your life a purpose"
and then credits role
now i know i'm a die hard gordon fan, but i think it's cool becuase we get our gordon answer but it leaves us completely speachless and still leaves us with questions to talk about on this message board

that's pretty damn good.
the writers could spend all of saw v and saw iv creating more questions/situations and dropping hints like the 'g' on the knife in IV that point to dr g such as, who put the knife behind mark's eye? it was clear that nobody had to have magical healing powers to keep eric matthew's foot on his body for 6 months after everyone said dr g had to have fixed HIM.. so its more probably that dr g survived amputating his own foot.
this would be an awesome ending following or just before a long montage of scenes/victims showing us the meaning of the puzzle pieces relevant to the whole saw universe while 'hello zep' plays and our minds are blown when the true nature of jigsaw's legacy is revealed and concluded

i do not want an open ending like that, but the idea of showing the ending of Saw 1 again in a different angle is cool though

Why not? I think it would thrill the movie perfectly and I am sure that a lot of people will be shocked if the movie comes to an abrupt ending with the cliffhanger.
And like I said many times before, I wish that the franchise ends after six movies and I would also love when it ends in the legendary bathroom.

yeah and a last sentence would be cool. John leaving the bathroom. meeting amanda outside with the car saying a last sentence which has to rock everything else and then driving away would be cool.
